Gas Boiler Installation, Smart Energy Homes

Upgrade to a reliable, energy-efficient gas boiler today!

What is a Gas Boiler?

A gas boiler is a central heating system that burns natural gas to generate heat for your home. It’s a highly efficient heating solution that provides warmth through radiators or underfloor heating and delivers hot water for domestic use. Gas boilers are commonly found in homes connected to the mains gas network, and they offer a more cost-effective heating option compared to electric heating systems.

There are three main types of gas boilers:

  1. Combi Boilers – Provide both heating and hot water on demand, without the need for a separate hot water cylinder.
  2. System Boilers – Require a hot water cylinder but no water tank, making them more compact than traditional boilers.
  3. Regular Boilers – Also known as conventional or heat-only boilers, they require both a hot water cylinder and a cold water tank, making them suitable for larger homes with higher hot water demands.

At Smart Energy Homes, we make your boiler installation process simple and hassle-free. Here’s a breakdown of how it works:

Our experienced engineers will carry out a free site survey to assess your home’s heating requirements and recommend the best type and size of gas boiler for your needs. We’ll discuss factors such as the size of your property, number of bathrooms, and hot water usage to determine the most suitable system.

If you’re replacing an old boiler, our engineers will safely remove it and dispose of it in an environmentally friendly manner.

The new gas boiler will be installed in your chosen location, whether it’s in the kitchen, loft, or utility room. The installation includes connecting the boiler to the gas supply, water pipes, and central heating system. For combi boilers, this step also includes setting up the hot water system.

A flue will be fitted to safely remove exhaust gases from your home. Depending on the layout of your property, this could be a horizontal or vertical flue.

Once the installation is complete, our engineers will test the system to ensure it’s functioning correctly and safely. We’ll also provide a demonstration on how to use your new boiler and set the controls.

A gas boiler is a heating system that uses natural gas to heat water, which is then circulated through radiators or underfloor heating to warm your home. It can also provide hot water for your taps and showers.

A gas boiler burns natural gas to heat water. The heated water is circulated through your home’s central heating system and radiators, providing warmth. Some gas boilers, like combi boilers, can also provide hot water on demand.

There are three main types: combi boilers, system boilers, and regular (or conventional) boilers. Combi boilers provide both heating and hot water on demand, system boilers require a hot water cylinder but no cold water tank, and regular boilers need both a hot water cylinder and a cold water tank.

A typical gas boiler installation takes 1 to 2 days, depending on the complexity of the job and whether any additional work is needed, such as upgrading the pipework or flue.

Yes, modern gas boilers, especially condensing models, are highly energy-efficient. They can achieve efficiency ratings of over 90%, helping to reduce your energy bills and carbon footprint.

Yes, it’s recommended to have your gas boiler serviced annually to ensure it operates efficiently and safely. Regular maintenance also extends the life of the boiler and prevents potential breakdowns.

Yes, you can switch to a gas boiler if your home is connected to the mains gas supply. If you’re switching from oil or electric, additional work may be required to install the necessary gas pipework and connections.

A condensing gas boiler is a highly efficient type of boiler that captures and reuses heat from the exhaust gases that would otherwise escape through the flue, resulting in less energy waste and lower fuel bills.

A well-maintained gas boiler can last between 10 to 15 years. Regular servicing can help extend its lifespan and maintain efficiency.

Gas boilers are energy-efficient, provide instant heating and hot water, and are typically more affordable to run than electric or oil systems. They’re also more environmentally friendly than older heating systems, especially if you upgrade to a modern, condensing model.
